Tybee Island in September (Sept. 3-7, 2009)

After leaving Birmingham on September 4th I made it all the way to Beautiful Tybee Island near Savannah.

Back in May I had a showing of my work at The Gallery by the Sea on Tybee and a very great lady by the name of Jennifer purchased my Bottle Arbor just in time for the Tour of Homes that her house was being viewed for. She renovated a 1920’s cottage and me being the architectural lover that I am, I just had to see the fine work she did. I stayed an extra day to install her arbor and we became fast friends. image

Now here we are in September and I called to tell her I was coming back out for a delivery and we needed to eat pizza again at Huckabee’s. Unfortunately, she wasn’t on Tybee for that weekend. She was at her other house in Atlanta BUT she insisted that I stay the weekend in the cottage. What’s a girl to do??? Not only did I stay in the most comfortable and charming home on the Island, but she also told her best friend Barry to take care of me while I was there. YAY….image

Barry turned out to be an avid kayaker with an abundence of vessels to choose from. We were out everyday and each time dolphins would swim and breach near us. Since I’m always in the shop when I’m not delivering…this was the first time in months that my legs saw sunlight. Many Thanks go out to Barry for showing me views beyond the normal tourist circuit and making me laugh!!  I also want to thank Jennifer for giving me such a wonderful place to lay my head!! Oh, and my little friend Aiden…no down-time is complete without the oppurtunity to see a child laugh and remind us to do the same!!!! Keep on , keep on.
